Join the new Parent Advisory Council and share your voice.
The Minnesota Department of Children, Youth, and Families is working with Research in Action (RIA) to launch the first-ever statewide Parent Advisory Council (PAC) for the Child Support Division. We’re looking for 18 parents and caregivers across the state to share their lived experiences, offer ideas, and help improve Minnesota’s child support program.
Those who might be interested in applying
- Parents and caregivers with firsthand experience navigating Minnesota’s child support system
- Community members who work closely with families impacted by child support
- People passionate about improving public services
- Individuals willing to share their perspective in monthly conversations
About the Council
This council is about centering voices that reflect the full diversity of Minnesota. We're especially hoping to connect with individuals whose experiences with child support may have been shaped by social, economic, or geographic barriers. Your insight is essential to building a system that works better for everyone.
As a member of the Parent Advisory Council, you will:
- Gather feedback from your community about Minnesota’s child support services
- Share ideas and make recommendations to improve the program
- Help set priorities that lead to lasting, positive change
Council members will meet once a month for two hours. Each participant will receive $50 per meeting for their time and insights.
How to apply
If you're interested in joining the council, please complete the interest form by July 2, 2025. RIA will review submissions and follow up with selected applicants.
