Community Action Funding

Intro

Community Action funding focuses local, state, private and federal resources to support families and individuals with low incomes to attain the skills, knowledge and motivation to become economically secure.

Community Action is funded by a combination of State (Minnesota Community Action Grant and Federal (Community Services Block Grant) funding. The programs are delivered by a statewide network of 24 Community Action Agencies and 10 Tribal governments that serve all counties in Minnesota.

Services provided by Community Action Agencies and Tribal Governments target the following broad areas to meet the needs in their communities: employment, education, income management, housing and homelessness, emergency services, food and nutrition, self-sufficiency, health, and connections with the community.
