Title
Indian Child Welfare Compliance
Intro
The American Indian Wellbeing (AIW) Unit compliance team oversees two distinct compliance processes for complaints and reviews. Beyond these primary functions, this team also addresses policy and procedure inquiries and provides comprehensive ICWA/MIFPA compliance training. All responses to inquiries are expected within 24 hours (one business day), including an acknowledgment of receipt if an immediate resolution is not possible. To contact team members about the Indian Child Welfare Act (ICWA) and/or the Minnesota Indian Family Preservation Act (MIFPA), please email DCYF.ICWA.MIFPA@state.mn.us.
