Parent Aware One-Star Rating Change

Parent Aware logo

Parent Aware is Minnesota’s quality rating and improvement system for child care programs. Programs that participate in Parent Aware are recognized and rewarded for their commitment to quality.

What’s changing

Starting July 1, 2026, all child care programs that are licensed and in good standing will receive a One-Star Parent Aware Rating. This only impacts programs that are not Parent Aware Rated and programs that have a current One-Star Rating. If your program has a Two-Star Rating or higher, there is nothing you need to do.
