DCYF begins first phase of CCAP electronic attendance

On June 22, DCYF began the first phase of the new electronic attendance requirement with 75 licensed child care centers across the state.  

This is the start of a phased rollout that will eventually require all providers receiving Child Care Assistance funding to submit attendance records electronically. Before expanding to additional providers, we asked providers in this first group to share their experiences and feedback: 

“The transition to electronic attendance was smoother than expected, and the initial training materials were very helpful. I also truly appreciated that your communication and response throughout the process was prompt and transparent.”  

“I appreciate being part of the first group for the electronic attendance rollout. The communication and support helped me understand the new system, and it has made daily attendance more organized for our center.” 

DCYF hosted several Provider Support Sessions over the past three weeks, during which attendees suggested improvements to certain submission method processes. This feedback has been incorporated in our library of provider resources and we are now developing plans to incorporate these enhancements into the upcoming rollout groups. 

The providers selected for these first rollout groups are licensed child care centers that received more than $100,000 in CCAP revenue during fiscal year 2025. They were also selected because of the attendance management systems they currently use to help make the transition as seamless as possible. 

As we continue the rollout, provider feedback will play an important role in shaping the process. Our goal is to make electronic attendance submission as simple, efficient, and as provider friendly as we can.
