Intro

Help Me Grow Minnesota helps families learn about their young child’s development and get connected to early childhood specialists in their local school district or cooperative when they have concerns. These specialists can answer questions and help figure out whether a child may be eligible for extra support. Help Me Grow Minnesota also provides free resources for all Minnesota families with young children.

When you make a referral through Help Me Grow Minnesota, your local school district or cooperative will contact you. They will talk with you about your child’s needs and your concerns and may offer a screening or evaluation to see if your child qualifies for early childhood special education services.

Parts of the site, including the referral forms, are available in Spanish, Somali and Hmong. Interpreters can also help you by phone in almost every language.

How Help Me Grow works

You can make a referral through Help Me Grow Minnesota any time you have questions or concerns about your child’s development. Specially trained staff from your local school district or cooperative will contact you to talk about your child’s needs.

They may offer:

  • A screening to check-in on how your child is learning and developing
  • An evaluation to check whether your child is eligible for early childhood special education services
  • Connections to additional resources and services

All services are free for families whose children are eligible.
