What to report
If a child is in immediate danger, call 911. If the child is not in immediate danger, use the numbers below to reach the appropriate agency.
Suspected maltreatment, abuse, or neglect
- Licensed or certified child care centers: Call the DCYF Intake Unit at 651-539-8222.
- Family child care: Call the licensing agency in the county or Tribal Nation where the child lives.
Health or safety concerns
Includes concerns about supervision, ratios, medical response, and cleanliness.
Mandated reporters
Child care providers and center staff are required to report suspected child abuse or neglect. DCYF provides resources for mandated reporters and information about maltreatment investigations.

Other reports
To report suspected abuse, neglect or maltreatment occurring outside of a child care program, call the child protection agency in the county or Tribal Nation where the child lives.
